Michelle Labels: Eternal Encouragement, Gabby Mom Review
One day when our two eldest girls, Guitar Babe and Artsy Princess were homeschooling, I caught Guitar Babe teaching Artsy Princess the answer to her test. "Hey, that's cheating", I pointed out. Guitar Babe, with a smile on her face said, "It's not cheating, Mom. It's called Teamwork." Hmmp!
Just last week, my teenaged niece came to visit us and stayed for a few days. One day, 4 year old Flash Boy came up to me, leaned his head on my shoulder, with a sweet smile, said "Mom, I like 'Aileen' very much. She's so beautiful."
The above are only a few of the sweet memories that I've treasured in my heart for many years. They are my Daily Treasures, as Lorrie Flem has pointed out. Daily Treasures, an audio or Mp3 download available at Lorrie Flem's Eternal Encouragement website, is an hour's worth of audio by Lorrie Flem. Recorded from an actual seminar given by Lorrie Flem, she talks about a mother's real treasure - her children. That there are moments when we will just have to choose to smile or find the humor in an otherwise stressful situation. She gives many ways for us to actually treasure those sweet and unforgettable moments like making a treasure box, or taking pictures and many more.
I'm quite pleased with this audio because I find it came at such an appropriate time. I've been struggling lately about our choice to homeschool. We've been homeschooling for the last ten years and living on a single income. With four children, money has been tight and we've been unable to give our children the opportunities for them to further develop their natural talents. We still don't own our home, have never bought a vehicle and hardly have any savings in the bank. Lately, I've been constantly thinking to myself and asking "Have I made the right choice?'
This blog's title is BEYOND THE SILVER AND THE GOLD. I thought of that title in reference to our children - that they are beyond any silver or gold that we can ever have on earth. They are truly our treasures that God has given to us. I'm glad that I listened to Lorrie Flem. She reinforced once again that our children are our Daily Treasures, that they are truly beyond any silver or any gold. Listening to Lorrie, I remembered once again all that our family has gained because I stayed home with our children. The joy of observing them grow up, the pleasure of watching them learn new things daily, the love and closeness we have with each other, made all of my sacrifices worth it. Thank you, Lorrie!
