Paige and Erin Forrester are sisters with a hit reality fashion show, On the Runway. In this 4th book of this series, Spotlight On the Runway, Paige and Erin fly off to London to film their show. Upon arrival, the sisters are bombarded with paparazzi and fans. Paige, the star of the show, loves the attention. Erin, the reluctant star, does her best to avoid them. While Paige thrives on the attention, Erin thinks many times if this is really what she wants.
What the public sees, however, is only icing on the cake. The real story of what’s happening between the sisters is a much better story. Paige and Erin love each other very much but when Erin starts getting some attention, Paige resents it and does her best to put her sister back where she ‘belongs’ – behind the camera. How the sisters deal with their personal and professional problems is the highlight of Spotlight On the Runway. It’s interesting that these sisters are Christians and are doing their best to live the Christian life in the public eye. Another interesting part of the book is their debate on models who are rail thin and how this affects women’s body image. The pregnancy of Erin’s teenage best friend is also an interesting part of the story.
HERE’S WHAT I SAY

Spotlight on the Runway is a book for the mature teen. Both my kids love Melody Carlson’s books but I did not have my 12 year old Artsy Princess read this. Melody Carlson does a great job of bringing to the fore some real issues that young ladies deal with such as wanting to look like models, teenage pregnancy, sibling rivalry, and family loyalty. I really admire Melody Carlson in bringing these issues out through her book. This is a book that many young ladies will like, Christian or not. Her characters are believable and relatable. As usual, her book is easy to read and will hook you from beginning to end.
