When you ask homeschool parents on the reasons why they have decided to teach their children at home, the reasons are plenty. Usually, you would hear a variation of these: It is God’s will that they teach their children at home. They would like to instill in their children a deep love for the Lord. They would like to instill in their children a love for lifelong learning. They would like to see their children soar according to their gifts and natural talents. They don’t want to put their children through the daily grind of going to school. They want to save money. They want to prepare their children for their future. There are manyRead more …

Our Homeschool Roots – TMA Homeschool

KidKiteEmailerwlogos3.jpg

13 years ago I heard a group of parents talk about this thing they’ve been doing at home for years – teaching their children at home! It was a novel idea at that time and I was even surprised to find that Filipino parents have actually been homeschooling already. I looked at the result of their hard work – their children – and I was in such awe! They had this young girl talk to us and tell their family’s story and she was amazing! Standing tall in front of the room and holding herself with confidence, not bravado, this young girl told us how their family handled some of the challenges they faced whileRead more …

I first met Ginger Arboleda during the 1st WAHMderful workshop in 2012 where I was one of the panelists. I was curious who it was that Blissmaker Martine de Luna partnered with in putting up the very first WAHM workshop. Ginger was a very dynamic, young woman. I immediately spoke to her about my husband and told her that I wanted to plan something with her. Hubby and I met with her together to discuss it, and though those plans did not push through, Ginger and I remained connected through Facebook and other blogger events.  Source Through the years, I observed Ginger and Manila Workshops and how it has steadily grown. I was surprised oneRead more …

EmergingInfluentialBlogs2014WritingProjectr1_thumb.jpg

I have been observing Ms. Janette Toral for about two years now and I find her so admirable. She is truly a digital influencer and knows what she is talking about. I have been able to attend an one of her free webcasts before and learned so much from her. Since then, I’ve been praying to attend her Certified Blog and Social Media Entrepreneur Program but the tuition stops me. When I learned about the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2014 Writing Project and found out that joining this would qualify me to attend as a delegate to the Digital Influencers Marketing Summit, I simply couldn’t pass it up.  This is also a chance forRead more …

Being In Yoga At ECHOyoga Shala

Echoyoga-Shala-yoga.jpg

I first experienced the practice of yoga when I was pregnant with Flash Boy in 2007. I was only able to do it a few times, then decided to stop because of the distance of the place from our home. After that, I enrolled myself in one of those large fitness gyms that had yoga/pilates/tai chi as one of their group exercises. I loved doing that the most because I felt that yoga achieved in 15 minutes what I can only achieve doing an aerobic workout for an hour. When my membership was over after a year, I didn’t have the chance to practice it anymore. Though I’ve been wanting to get back to it,Read more …

More than 18 years ago, when I was still a very young mom-to-be, I made the important decision to breastfeed all my children. When my first baby arrived, I was eager to breastfeed but did not receive support from my family. Hubby was very supportive but it was just him and myself against the rest of my family of origin. Because of my perseverance, my milk came in about 3-4 days after the birth of Guitar Babe. My breasts were so full of milk. But I was faced with so many challenges: I was required by my boss (who was also my dad) to go back to work a month after delivery; I had aRead more …
