Event Invite: Our Homeschool Journey by Lorrie Battung

July 10, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

When we were just a newbie homeschooling family, I was always searching for families or moms who have been done it before. In my mind, what better way to learn about homeschooling than hearing from someone who has been in the trenches. Someone who has been doing it for years, possibly even with children who have already finished homeschooling. Online casino Ireland. ###

Meeting women like this is always an assurance. It assures us that we can go on our own homeschooling journey and actually make it. It calms us down when we feel panicked or doubt if we are doing the right thing for our children. We get answers to questions that have been disturbing us.

This July 10, Teacher Mom Lorrie Battung has offered to share what she has learned in her 18 years of homeschooling their children. Get wisdom and essential tips from a teacher mom who has been there for 18 years. In her own words, this is how Lorrie describes herself:

“I have three daughters and have been homeschooling since 1997. I presently run Pink Teacup – where my daughters and I conduct craft tea parties and Cuki Confections – an artisan cookie business. I coordinate women’s events for our church -Without Walls Ministries . My daughters are on the worship team and my husband Gene is the executive pastor there. We love arts, music, tea, and the beach! We decided to homeschool because our business before required us to do a lot of traveling and we didn’t want to leave our kids at home. But after starting to homeschool, our reasons started to change to wanting to have a decision on what we wanted our girls to learn and most especially to raise children who will live lives that will glorify God. My older girls, Elle and Ina are done with college while my youngest daughter Sam is in grade 10. Elle and Ina were homeschooled till high school. For those wanting to start homeschooling, I would suggest that you first know why you would want to homeschool. Pray about that reason or reasons and articulate it into a homeschool mission statement as a family. It is important to realize that homeschooling is a lifestyle -so having some goals and preparing for each school year really helps. I’ve learned a lot in the past 18 years – joy and tears included ! I have come to realize that having the opportunity to homeschool is really a privelege that God has bestowed on our family and we are so grateful for it.”

Sounds interesting enough? Here’s what Mommy Lorrie promises you will learn from her workshop:

  • Why to homeschool?
  • How to homeschool?
  • All about curriculum options
  • Plus homeschool planning pages

So that’s 3 hours of learning for the price of just two cookies. I’m sure those are yummy cookies!
