My Guitar Babe and Artsy Princess are enrolled in the Summer Travel Club by Weekly Writer. The Summer Travel Club is a safe place for the children to meet with other children around the world. Here they can participate in forums, chat with others and write their own blogs and go on virtual travels.

The website seemed confusing for us during the first few times that we used it. It was only when Artsy Princess realized that she can also write her own blogs on it that things started to happen for us. The owner, Ms. Judy Steidl, is a professional educator who also homeschooled her children. Ever since we enrolled, she has not failed to communicate with us through email. At first I thought that she was just sending group emails to everybody. Then she started writing to each of my children as well! This excited my two kids so much. Judy Steidl communicates kindly with the children, encouraging them to write. This week, Artsy Princess, wrote three blogs by herself already. When Guitar Babe saw this, she was motivated (and competitive enough) to want to write her own blogs. It’s fun for the two of them, though they still need my help to navigate through the site and to type their posts.

The other thing I like about this site is that it encourages parent participation. I write to Judy a lot about how my kids are learning here. She responds by motivating my children in the best way that she knows how. We’ve just been using this site for about two weeks, so far, we are enjoying it. The children will still have to write their first letter and we’ll be doing that soon.

Here’s the good news for all of you! In honor of USA’s Independence Day, Judy has allowed us to invite 3 other friends to join the Summer Travel Club for FREE! But you will have to join before July 4.

Hello, I'm Michelle and I love to encourage others through my blog. I write about homeschool, books and family life. I enjoy testing out products and giving my honest opinion about it. If I'm not in front of my laptop, I can usually be found watching TV or having my favorite frappuccino at Starbucks with my favorite Mary Higgins Clark book.

Hi there. We are very interested. I started my son’s friendster account, I guess, 4 years ago, where I posted the stories he retold in his own words, and this club might encourage him to read and write more.

    Thank you.

    Joey,

I’ve been waiting for your to reply with your email address. I already sent you a registration email but it bounced back to me. If I don’t get a response by 12nn, June 29, local time, I’ll give the slot to Kaleb.

I hope that the first three who became members of the Weekly Writer Club for FREE would also PAY IT FORWARD and invite the others who would post their comment here.

If we continue to invite others until July 4, imagine how many Filipino homeschoolers can take advantage of this free offer from Weekly Writer Club. The children would also have fun together online.

    Hello Kaleb!

Please write to me again for your email address so I can give you the registration details.

Thanks to AEC for your generosity, too.

Hi there. Sorry, the email I wrote was wrong. It was supposed to be .com not .ca

But you may reach me through the email I used in the yahoo group which is jmjfamily6@yahoo.com. I was actually waiting for your reply there, but I didn’t realize that I gave you the other personal email add I use.

Anyways, how do I contact Mandy Camilon, if you had already given the slot to Kaleb?

    Thank you.

Making sure that Joey and Kaleb get their registration details for the WWClub was the last thing that I did before going to the hospital. I’m glad to see that they all got in.

I hope your kids enjoy and learn a lot!
