With the change brought about by my weight loss, I have a wish to also change my whole look. I was thinking that the new look should come about when I have already lost a significant amount of weight – like reaching 50% of my weight loss goal. I have already decided that one of the first things I’ll be doing is to change my hair color. This is something that I’ve never done in my life and it excites me. Last June, an opportunity presented itself to me through Mrs. C. Cuyugan who invited me to try out this new salon at Alabang. Of course I immediately accepted and asked if I can have my hair colored. Fringe Salon is a new and posh salon located at G/F Commercenter Bldg. Commerce Ave. Cor. Filinvest Ave. Filinvest Corporate City,, Muntinlupa City. It’s right across Acacia Hotel so even for me, who is not so familiar with Alabang, found it easily. I was very excited to say goodbye to my blah hair and finally have my hair colored.

Upon arriving at the salon, the first thing I noticed was that it was very pleasant smelling. The thing that makes me avoid most salons, even the very good ones, is the assault of chemical smells to my nose. At Fringe Salon, the first thing that greeted me was a very welcoming smile from the staff along with a very pleasant interior. I was surprised when this little lady, who looked so fabulous and who I assumed is the owner, greeted me and lead me to a seat herself. The owner, Evelyn Tagle, was very welcoming and hospitable that I immediately fell at ease in the place.

I was led to a seat where I described to them what I wanted. I said I wanted ombre and showed them a few photos that I searched for online before coming over. They recommended that I not go too light as that would totally stray from my dark hair, considering this is my first time. Evelyn encouraged me all the more by telling me to live life and be adventurous which cemented my decision to go for the hair color.

The shampoo seat was very comfortable. I did not have to overstretch my neck to the back as in my past experiences. Theirs was truly very comfortable. Back in my seat, I was served some cookies and also asked for my preference in coffee. That was all very exciting for me because this was extraordinary service. The manager of the salon discussed the colors that will be used for my hair. I listened and agreed with what they recommended. Mostly I was just too excited to see the result!

It took them more or less two hours to finish with my hair. As I could not go more than two hours without eating something, I asked them if it’s possible to have someone buy something for me from the restaurants that surrounded the salon. The receptionist came back to me with a collection of menus for me to choose from. I just picked my choice, gave her the money and off she went to buy for me. Isn’t that such great service?
Overall, they did a great job of giving me good service. I left the salon feeling really good about myself and my exciting new look. They sent me home with a loot bag full of goodies and a small hair brush which I appreciate. It’s small enough to fit in my small purses. When people see me, everyone remarked on how the new color made me look much younger. I’m so glad I had the courage to try out something new. I would definitely go for more hair coloring in the future.
