Time for A Change at Fringe Salon PH Alabang

Sep 10, 2014 | Posted by in Weight Loss | 2
Such a clean and fresh smelling salon!

With the change brought about by my weight loss, I have a wish to also change my whole look. I was thinking that the new look should come about when I have already lost a significant amount of weight – like reaching 50% of my weight loss goal. I have already decided that one of the first things I’ll be doing is to change my hair color. This is something that I’ve never done in my life and it excites me. Last June, an opportunity presented itself to me through Mrs. C. Cuyugan who invited me to try out this new salon at Alabang. Of course I immediately accepted and asked if I can haveRead more …

The Necessity of a Weight Loss Support Group – Eats Right! Motivational Meet Ups

It’s hard to lose weight, right? I should know because I’ve gone on a roller coaster of weight loss and gain through the years and I was never successful at it. Every time I try to lose weight, I begin with good intentions to exercise and eat less. As the days go by with no one keeping me accountable, I would start skipping days without exercise, or start eating my favorite foods again until I’ve totally forgotten about my weight loss goal. That was in the past. Now that I’m dead serious about losing weight, I am surrounding myself with people who would help me go on and some who would keep me accountable. AsRead more …

may2014.jpg

It’s been three months since we went on our weight loss journey as a family. With respect to the other members of my family, I am only sharing my own weight loss updates and not theirs. Maybe sometime in the future I’ll talk about them but for now, I’m all you’ve got. Although I did not start losing weight in September, I chose that photo because I’m wearing the same jeans in both photos. In the September photo, I’ve had to really suck my gut in to zip those jeans. For the May photo, it now fits me comfortably. No gut-sucking involved. Here are my stats: 2/28/2014 4/21/2014 5/6/2014 Normal Ranges: Weight: 234.8 lbs 226.5 lbs 221.6 lbs 106.5 – 144 lbsRead more …

We’ve known about this for a month and planned for all of us to join. Since we’ve been working out, we know that we are already conditioned enough to join. Although it is a Fun Run, we took still took it seriously. TRAINING One week before this, my coach had me do practice runs on the treadmill at the gym. It was super hard. I never really liked the feeling of catching your breath and feeling the burn in yourRead more …

The Benefits of Having a Personal Trainer

Mar 25, 2014 | Posted by in Weight Loss | 2

When we started our Padrelanan Family Health and Fitness Challenge, I shared that we hired a personal trainer for our family. Though I considered it a major investment by taking a huge dip from our monthly budget, it’s the best decision that we have made in our life so far. Apart from salvation and getting married, that is. In the five weeks that we have been training with our coach, Sani Adarme, we all have progressed by leaps and bounds! Here are the benefits we have gained from having a personal trainer: Consistency in our workout schedules – Since we are now working with a coach, we all have a set schedule to adhere to.Read more …

The Steps Project with Chief Ambassador Rovilson Fernandez

Mar 25, 2014 | Posted by in Weight Loss | 0

Last Feb. 25, 2014 I was privileged to be invited to the bloggers’ launch of The Steps Project.  I was excited to go to this launch at the prospect of meeting Rovilson Fernandez, who I watched as he and Marc Nelson raced toward their victory in Amazing Race Asia. Even if they were not the winners, they were still winners in the eyes of many because they played smart and fair all throughout the race. Rovilson did not disappoint as their ambassador. He was welcoming, warm and very contagious with his passion to promote an active lifestyle to every Filipino. Along with his partners, they talked to us about the Steps Project and its Mission:Read more …

My Health, Fitness and Vanity Goals

Mar 21, 2014 | Posted by in Weight Loss | 12

I’ve been working out for four weeks now but I haven’t worked on my goals yet. I don’t want to continue without pinning it down and writing it so that I always have something to go back to. I had a chat with my coach the other day about setting my goals and he advised me not to focus on the weight loss but on real goals such as live longer for my family and such. The weight loss should just be a bonus. Just yesterday when I was telling him how I felt much better and can move easier, he said I should think about how my internal organs are also improving. Honestly, IRead more …

Our Family’s Weight Loss Journey Begins Today

Feb 20, 2014 | Posted by in Weight Loss | 25

I’ve been a yoyo dieter and inconsistent exerciser(for lack of a better word) for many years. I’ve tried every diet I’ve heard of and can never sustain it. I would go on periods of working out and can’t sustain that as well. I’ve read all the diet books I can get my hands on, but to no avail. Every year, I see the numbers on the weighing scale creeping up and up. In the last couple of years, I’ve basically given up on myself and hardly believe that I can still lose all my extra weight. But I’ve never been the kind of woman to dwell on my losses. The reason I’ve been on andRead more …

Gaining Weight Through the Years

Jan 20, 2014 | Posted by in Weight Loss | 12

I wasn’t always fat. During my teen years, I was pretty slim. Though I had to keep it up because I already had the tendency to gain weight. I was very conscious of my looks back then and my weight  and body was important to me so I exercised regularly and dieted religiously. Here’s a photo of me and Gary D. when we were just dating. He and I were both slim.   We got married in 1995 and I became pregnant shortly thereafter. Becoming pregnant for the first time made me think that it is okay to gain weight. So I let myself go and just ate and ate. With the first pregnancy, IRead more …
